William "Buck" Johnson

William “Buck” Johnson, 68, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at High Falls Baptist Church with the Reverend Terrell Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Son of John Johnson and Mary Long Johnson, Buck was born in Mobile, Alabama on January 27, 1958. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and remained active in his faith by listening to sermons and audiobooks at home when he was unable to attend church.

Buck enjoyed fishing, coaching little league, and was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves. He was also a talented musician who loved singing and playing the guitar.

Buck will be remembered for his faith, his love of music, and the kindness he shared with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margaret Johnson of Locust Grove; son, Bobby Johnson (Beth) of Locust Grove; grandchildren: Conner Johnson, Chloe Johnson, and Caleb Johnson; sister, Pat Allen of Alabama; brother, Doug Johnson of Alabama; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Gary Bray (Tori) of Eatonton, Georgia; and sister-in-law, Becky Daniel of Butts County, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Johnson and Linda Johnson.
