William Todd Horne

William Todd Horne, 57, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, May 28, 2026. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens, U.S. Highway 41, Forsyth, Georgia.

Todd was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Carol Zellner Horne and Sinclair Horne, Jr. As an Army “brat,” his childhood took him from Kentucky to Germany to Alabama before his family settled in Monroe County. He played football at Mary Persons High School, where he graduated in 1987. He continued his education at Mercer University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Todd’s outgoing personality and ability to never meet a stranger perfectly suited him for a successful career in sales. He enjoyed a long career in the trucking industry and most recently found his work family at NAPA.

Todd married the love of his life, Marlys Clinite Horne, and together they made their home at the Zellner Homeplace in Forsyth. He was an avid sports fan — Roll Tide! — and also loved the outdoors. Todd especially enjoyed grilling and spending time with family and friends.

Todd is survived by his wife, Marlys Clinite Horne; his parents, Sinclair and Carol Horne; his brother, Jamie Horne (Heidi); his niece, Grace Horne (Trevor); and his nephew, Pearce Horne. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and a slew of cousins who will cherish his memory and forever relive his humor and wit.
