Wanda Ruth Williams, 76, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Good Hope Church Cemetery, 1161 Highway 41 South, Barnesville, Georgia 30204.
Wanda was born on April 21, 1949, in Thomaston, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Elliott and Johnnie Lee Patterson Elliott.
Wanda loved her church, First Pentecostal Church of The Rock, and cherished time spent with her family. She also enjoyed shopping and going out to a buffet. Wanda dedicated many years of her life to caring for others, working as a nurse at The Retreat until her retirement. After retiring, she continued her nursing career at Pruitt Health Monroe, where she worked until the age of 73.
Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Cecil Williams of Forsyth; sons, Dwayne Williams (Stacy) of Montgomery, Alabama and Doug Williams (Donna) of Forsyth; daughter, Dana Byrd (Benny) of Barnesville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Ryan Williams, Jarrod Williams, Devan Williams (Summer), Izak Tucker (Savannah Howard), and Asher Byrd; and ten great grandchildren: Brantley, Bentley, Lillianna, Jackson, Zeke, Bailey, Berklee, Hutch, Lakelyn, and Noella.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Williams.
