Susana Billard Head

Susana Billard Head, 101, of Monroe County Georgia went home to be with the Lord on 1/4/2021. She was born on August 1, 1919 in the Republic of Panama to Dr. Henrique Billard and Virginia Billard. She was a woman of tremendous faith who enjoyed reading her Bible.  She served over 30 years in the church nursery loving the children as if they were her own.

Family was very important to her.  She loved spending time with them and was the first to rejoice at the news of each new addition, offering thanks to Jesus for another wonderful blessing.  Her hobbies included crocheting, shopping, and reading.  She spoke Spanish, French, and English and kept her mind sharp by reading books in all 3 languages.  She was also an accomplished cook of which both her children and grandchildren can attest to.  She had a passion for dancing and even made doing chores fun by playing music and dancing around the house with her children.  She was always the last one to leave the dance floor even at the age ninety wearing her stiletto heels and drinking a glass of wine or champagne.  This amazing woman was called Mom by her children and Nina by her grandchildren.  While she will be forever missed, she will be in our hearts for eternity as Heaven gained a great soul.

She is survived by her children: Susan Jenkins (Richard Jenkins), Rosemary Head Porter (Scott Porter), George G. Head (Robbin Peiser Head), and Henry L. Head ( Lisa Slappe Head); grandchildren: Stephen Jenkins (Allison), Drew Jenkins, Susan Drake (Davis), Lee Belknap (LeeAnn), Clayton Porter (Melissa), James Porter, Brandi Pye (Robbie), Brittany Basehore (Paul), Jasmine Mills (Brandi), Thomas Head (Costa), Jonathan Head (Callie); 21 great-grandchildren with another on the way: Christopher Jenkins, Elena Jenkins, Rebekah Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Elijah Jenkins, Haley Jenkins, AJ Jenkins, Kaylin Drake, Samantha Porter, Will Porter, Mackenzie Pye, Lily Pye, Bailey Pye, Jace Pye, Ellie Basehore, Gabe Basehore, George Basehore, Will Basehore, Abbie Basehore, Henry Head, Baby Head, and Hunter Head, She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Head, sons William Billard, and James Edward Head,  grandson Jason Head, seven sisters, and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens with Pastor J Bailey officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing are requested.
