Stephen V. Landers, Jr., age 74, passed away on March 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud supporter of his family. He shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife and was a constant source of encouragement for his children, always cheering them on in sports, the arts, and every path they chose to pursue.
Known for his strong will and unmistakable personality, Stephen left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Those closest to him will always remember his candid nature, his sharp wit, and his signature sense of humor.
He was dedicated to serving his community, giving more than 50 years of his time and energy through his involvement with the Jaycees and EMA. His commitment to helping others reflected the kind of man he was—steadfast, generous, and deeply connected to his community.
Stephen also had a great love for music, especially the band Alabama. One of the family’s most cherished memories is attending an Alabama concert together—an early moment that captures the joy he found in time spent with those he loved. He was an insurance adjuster by day and spent many afternoons and evenings on the ballfield as a baseball and softball umpire staying close to the sport he loved.
He was preceded in death by his sisters in law, Priscilla Allen of Macon and Rebecca Lord of Dublin, granddaughter, Laura Callan of Woodstock, and his granddog, PJ of Forsyth.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Regina H. Landers of Kennesaw; his children, Stephanie Y. D’Agostin (Mark) of Kennesaw and Christopher S. Landers (Cristi) of Forsyth; grandchildren Katie French of Valdosta, Paul D’Agostin (Angela) of Anniston, Alabama, Logan Landers and Landen White of Forsyth; seven great-grandchildren; as well as granddogs Lucy, Marley, Lily, and Xena, grandcats Jack and Smokey, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held at Monroe County Memorial Chapel on March 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Forsyth City Cemetery.
Stephen’s legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will live on in all who knew him.
