Shirley Spillers, 72, of Forsyth, Georgia passed away Monday, July 27, 2026. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 31, 2026, at Maynard Baptist Church, with Reverend Matthew Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Shirley's memory to Maynard Baptist Church 1195 Juliette Road, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.
Shirley was born December 7, 1953, to the late Harvey Jordan Dishroon and the late Cynthia Elizabeth Collett in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving from Atlanta, Shirley and her husband Jack ran the Farmhouse Restaurant on the square in Forsyth for eighteen years. She then worked as a Regional Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). During her years working in hospitality, she made many friends and earned the respect of coworkers for her work ethic and dedication. Her loving and caring nature will be remembered by all that she knew. She was a faithful member of Maynard Baptist Church, serving the Lord by showing His love to all.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Spillers; sister Pearl Sammon; brothers Charles Dishroon, James Dishroon, Sonny Dishroon.
Shirley leaves behind to grieve her loss her children, Pam Buchanan, (Jonathan) of Forsyth; Crystal Dickie (Matthew) of Jonesboro, Georgia; Cindy Howard (Richard) of Jacksonville, Florida; Susan Ellis of Jacksonville, Florida; Donny Spillers of Jacksonville, Florida; Connie Spillers of Jacksonville Florida; Paul Spillers (Duk-Sun), of Doraville, Georgia; grandchildren, Collin Dickie, Caleb Dickie, Chris Jarrell (Jill), Hannah and Naomi Spillers, Nicole Thomason (Joshua), and great grandchildren, Chloe and Cora Thomason and Juniper Jarrell and sister, Sherry Golick.
