Sandra Long Waldrep, 76, of Forsyth, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born and raised in Forsyth, Sandra was a proud graduate of Mary Persons High School. She was a devoted reader, a passion that stayed with her throughout her life. She also loved trips with her husband and family.

Born in Forsyth to the late James and Mary Joyce Long, Sandra built a life centered on compassion, service, and family. She graduated from the Macon Hospital Nursing School and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. For 34 years, she cared for mothers and newborns with unwavering dedication, touching countless lives with her steady hands and gentle heart.

Sandra shared 23 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jimmy Waldrep. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her adored son, Todd Smith (Mary Kay); her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew (Elena), and Mary Margaret; and her great‑granddaughter, Amelia, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her dear sister, Susan Pearce (Gerral), who remained a constant source of love and support throughout her life, and her stepson, Walker Waldrep.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by many loved ones who now welcome her home.

A graveside service honoring Sandra’s life will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Her family and friends will gather to remember a woman whose kindness, strength, and quiet grace left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
