Sandra Hulsey "Sandy" Maddox

Sandra Hulsey “Sandy” Maddox, 73, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Monroe Memorial Gardens on Ensign Road in Forsyth.

Sandy was born in Joliet, Illinois, on August 23, 1953, to the late M.C. Hulsey and Louise Brown Hulsey. She was a graduate of Portal High School in Bulloch County, Georgia, and attended Tift College, where she played basketball until marrying her husband, Delma Leroy “Bo” Maddox, Jr.

Sandy was known for her sweet and loving nature and her caring heart. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and making sure those she loved were well cared for.

Sandy is survived by her son, Chris Maddox (Sheena) of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren: Ivy Atkinson (Jameson), Josh Maddox, Bethany Maddox, Ansley Maddox, Christopher Gilstrap. Kryssi Maddox, Justin Maddox, Lexi Hess, and Bentley Hess; great grandchild, Lily Atkinson; siblings, Marion Hulsey (Terri) of Statesboro, Georgia, and Brenda Clark (Mel) of Seminole, Florida; sisters-in-law, Becky Hulsey and Larita Hulsey; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Leroy “Bo” Maddox, Jr.; son, Skip Maddox; and brothers, Gary and Dennis Hulsey.
