VIEW PHOTO COLLAGE            Robert Benjamin “Bobby” Floyd (better known to many as ‘Pops’) passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, after a month long illness of metastatic malignant melanoma. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with a graveside service to follow at 4:00 p.m., at Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Stephen Kitchens will officiate. Country casual attire suggested. Mr. Floyd, the son of the late Charlie Jabez Floyd and Farris Clifford Ham Floyd was born September 11, 1932, in Forsyth, Georgia. His wife, Agnes Virginia Gibby Floyd, his daughter, Cynthia Yvonne “Cindy” Diaz, his sister, Gladys Ruth Thalen, his brother, Jimmy Floyd; his grandsons, Tracy Steele and Shawn Diaz; and great granddaughter, Cameron Steele preceded him in death. He was retired from Georgia Power Company and a cattle farmer. He was a 13 year Veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard, member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors, and a member of the Monroe County Cattleman’s Association. Survivors include his children, Marcia (Jim) Dugger of Forsyth, Sandra Floyd of Eatonton and Keith (Sheryl) Floyd of Bloomingdale; brothers, Charles (Nancy Lee) Floyd of Forsyth and Steve (Debbie) Floyd of Statesboro; grandchildren, Bryan (Amy) Steele, Erin (Mark) Hood, Benjamin Elias Diaz, Zachary Robert “Zack” Floyd, Macy Floyd and Abigail Floyd; great grandsons; Benjamin Cameron Steele and Wyatt Robert Steele.The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to charity of choice.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
