Robert Schaffner Batten

Robert Schaffner Batten 53 of Forsyth, Georgia has gone home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Mid Batten. 

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Feess-Batten of Forsyth, daughter, Kate Trice of Forsyth; son, Steven Smith, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; mother Barbara L. Batten of Forsyth; two sisters, Romona Foster of Forsyth and Cindy Pilnicki of Bethany, OK; six grandchildren; three nephews; one niece; three great nephews; one great niece; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robert was a diesel mechanic by trade. He loved his family and his beloved fur baby Oliver. 

Robert enjoyed his life to the fullest.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling on the grill, watching movies, playing video games and fishing.  He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.  Robert was loved by all and will be missed by many. 

Due to COVID-19 there will not be a formal visitation.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Monroe Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Stanley Harrell will officiate.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
