Richard Harrison Presley

Richard Harrison Presley, our beloved husband, dad and friend went home to be with God on June 5, 2020.  We will all miss him terribly but we know he is in a much better place.

He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Luella Small Presley; four children:  Richard Keith Presley (Sharon), Clayton Edward Presley (Marie), Susan P. Niblett (Ricky), and John Boland “Bo” Presley (Julie); eight grandchildren:  Kasey P. Chambers, Brittany Presley, Erin P. Strickland, Maggie P. Cox, Jason Niblett, Richa Niblett, Joshua Presley & Abigail P. Conine; five great grandchildren:  Brayden Cole, Cooper Cole, Makayla Puckett, Paislie Cox & Mayson Cox.

He served 4 years in the US Navy and retired in 1995 from Bibb Company at Plant Camelia after 27 years.

Had it not been for 2 amazing people we could not have made it through this journey.  Charles Moser, who was his caregiver at night and Teddie Lundy, a VA caregiver and friend. 

God was with him through this journey and we praise Him and give Him the glory.

The family is grateful for the support of Amedisys Hospice through this difficult time.  In lieu of flowers we request donations in his memory to Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Ste A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

A private graveside service for family will be held Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Monroe Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Mike McMullen and Rev. Ricky Niblett will officiate.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will not be a formal visitation. 

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
