Richard Russell Eyler
Beloved Son, Brother, Nephew and Uncle
Praise to our God and Lord Jesus for blessing us with Richard Eyler of Forsyth Georgia for almost 42 years. He died peacefully in his sleep and went to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved dearly on March 12, 2026. Born in Atlanta, he was an active athlete and outstanding student growing up in Fairfax, VA and Lilburn, GA. In high school, he attended Greater Atlanta Christian School where he played football and wrestled Varsity for four years. He attended Georgia Tech in aerospace engineering and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Later he graduated from Brenau University with a major in accounting. He worked in banking and finance in Charlotte, NC, and earned a master’s degree in accounting from UNC Charlotte’s Belk School of Business.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kel-Ann Eyler of Forsyth, sister Jeanne Louise Martin (Jeffrey) of Prosper, TX, brother John Sheldon Eyler of Forsyth, Aunts Petti-Jeanne Sheldon of Forsyth, Mary Etta King (Robert) of Durham, NC and Connie Baird (Mike) of Frisco, TX; Uncles John R. Eyler (Fonda) of Gainesville, FL and Richard R. Eyler (Barbara) of Centennial, CO; Niece Amalia Martin, Nephews Davis Martin and Jack Martin. He is also survived by John and Della Elliott, lifelong precious Air Force friends, Peter Stoudt, Karen and Philip Joe, Jinhi Jacobs, Pam and Steve Stewart, his Eyler and Sheldon cousins, and many other close family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rocky and Eloise Sheldon and Robert and Doris Eyler, his beloved cousin Jason Eyler, dearly departed Wendy Elliott Brown, Alice Handy and Dr. Fred Jacobs. What a grand reunion they will have!
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at Forsyth Methodist Church at 68 W. Johnston Street, Forsyth GA 31029 on March 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. Visitation in the sanctuary will begin at 10 a.m. Services are being handled by the Monroe County Memorial Chapel, W. Main Street, Forsyth GA 31029.
