Raymond "Uncle Funk" Manus, 87, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Union Springs Baptist Church in Cedar Grove.
Mr. Manus was born in Alamo, Georgia on September 4, 1938, to the late Carl William Manus and Dicey White Manus. He worked building and installing cabinets for 14 years and spent many years as a truck driver traveling across the country with his wife, Shirley. He cherished time with family and friends and loved hosting meals at his home. He also enjoyed fishing, attending racing events, and collecting arrowheads and Native American artifacts.
Known to many as “Uncle Funk,” he was always joking and loved making people laugh. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Mr. Manus is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Manus of Forsyth; children: Kathy Pritchett (Dennis) of Forsyth, Trena Harrelson of Cedar Grove, Georgia, Ricky Manus of Cedar Grove, Regina Green (Tony) of Forsyth, and Terry Manus of Cedar Grove; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Manus was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Gilder and Lessie McGowan; and brother, Daniel Manus.
