Rachel P. Bass

Rachel P. Bass passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery.  Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate.  The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mrs. Bass, the daughter of the late Alice Roquemore Smith and Rudisil Pippin was born December 26, 1938, in Forsyth, Georgia. Her husband, Richard Lee Bass, her grandson, David Richard Bass, II and her sister, Cornelia P. English preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Mary Persons High School and was retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company.  Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Dorsett of Forsyth; son, David Bass of Warner Robins; three sisters, Audrey Little of Forsyth, Jewel Taylor (Raymond) of Lamar County and Katherine Colvin (Calvin) of Newnan; one brother, Kenneth Smith of Lamar County; grandchildren, Sheree Daniel (Luis), Jim Dorsett (Hillary), Leslie Mannheim (Austin), Kevin Bass and Tiffani Bass; and six great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to church of donor’s choice.  To view this live at the time of the service or at a later time please visit: http://citylinktv.com/channel/forsyth-monroe-county-memorial-chapel/      Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
