Forsyth, GA - Peggy A Rowan, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, at the age of 79. Born on June 12, 1944, in Alva, KY, Peggy lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday September 1, 2023, at Stockbridge Community Church 4401 Georgia Highway 155 North Stockbridge, Georgia with interment to follow at New River Free Holiness Church in Lenox, Georgia. The Family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Peggy was a woman of strong character and unwavering dedication. With determination and diligence, she became a respected supervisor at the International Paper Company. Peggy's unwavering work ethic and leadership guided her colleagues with grace and kindness throughout her career. Outside of her professional life, Peggy cherished the relationships she had with her family. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Susan Walker (Shawn) of Forsyth, Georgia , whose life she enriched with endless love and support. Peggy's loving spirit and nurturing nature will forever be remembered by her stepdaughter, Carol Ivey (Michael) of Cordele, Georgia, granddaughter, Kenzie Walker (Tripp Dodd) of Lakeland, Florida and grandson, Garrett Walker of Forsyth, Georgia, who adored her dearly. Peggy's values of family were deeply ingrained in her soul, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings. She is survived by sister, June McCreary of Seymour, Tennessee, sister, Carolyn Hendrickson (Bob) of Commerce Township, Michigan, and brother, Dennie (Judy) of Woodhaven, Michigan. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Ovaline Williams of Newnan, Georgia, sister-in-law, Marie Hagadorn of Albany, Georgia, sister-in-law, Mary Rowan of Winter Haven, Florida, and brother in law, Nathianel Rowan of Ohio. As well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Rowan, mother Clara Campbell, father Beecher Brittain, brother, Bill Brittain, brother, George Brittain, brother, Jimmie Brittain, brother, Archie Brittain, sister, Loretta James. Several loved brothers and sisters in law. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at the New River Holiness Church Cemetery, Lenox, GA where Peggy will be laid to rest beside her late husband. In honor of Peggy's remarkable life, flowers can be delivered to Monroe County Memorial Chapel or Stockbridge Community Church.

The Rowan family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all friends and relatives who have provided support and condolences during this difficult time. Peggy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire kindness, dedication, and love.
