Our world has said goodbye to an amazing, one-of-a-kind lady, as Patsy peacefully passed away with family by her side on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the age of 78.
She has been reunited with her parents, Roland and Ernestine Vedder; her husband of 56 years, James Clark; her brother, William and nephew, Will.
Patsy is survived by her sister, Rose Anne Vedder; sister-in-law, Kay Hudmon; daughter, Beth Allen (Mike); son, James Clark (Shelly), step-daughter, Karlene Finlayson(David), 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that loved her dearly.
Patsy cherished her family and friends and always did for others without expecting anything in return. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart and always put a smile on her face.
She was an educator in NY State who enjoyed every minute in the classroom teaching and influencing students of all ages. She taught all of us the importance of reading, writing, "CARPE DIEM", "Seize the Day" and enjoy life while you can! Upon retirement, she re-located from Canada back to her birth town of Forsyth and continued spreading her knowledge and kindness.
Besides her beautiful gardens, another passion of hers was the Writers Group. She loved writing, helping others to write and participating with so many great friends.
In keeping with Patsy's wishes, cremation has taken place with Monroe County Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 417 Frontage Rd, Forsyth, GA 31029 on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. and a second with her Canadian friends and family at a later date.
Thank you to all that helped over the past few months with care and concerns.
Mr. Woody and Angie for their calls to Canada, Mike and Dennis for dropping everything to make it possible for me to be in Georgia for the duration, Carie and her visits to help with home care, Tina and her visits to the hospital, hospice and to help with my sanity, great neighbors, friends and family (too many to list) for their visits and kind words and the local Fire Station and EMS services for their continued support during our tough days.
Many thanks to the amazing staff at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin who took extra special care of Patsy during her last week.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Patsy can be made to the American Liver Foundation. https://liverfoundation.org/for-patients/donate-now/
