Opal Belknap Mitchell

Opal Belknap Mitchell passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Harold Feightner will officiate. Due to COVID-19 there will not be a formal visitation.  Masks and social distancing are requested at the cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell, the daughter of the late Clem Clifton and Sally Ashley Clifton was born September 10, 1929 in Roanoke, Alabama.  Her husbands, James Warren Belknap, Bill Wilson and Calvin Mitchell preceded her in death.  She retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her children, Sheila Feightner (Harold) of Warner Robins, Belinda Grimshaw of Warner Robins, Jim Belknap (Debbie Oakley) of Smarr and Leslie Belknap (Kim) of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Frank Clifton (Peggy) of Morrow; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to The Methodist Home for Children & Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
