Myra Gittens Waldrep

Myra Gittens Waldrep, 84, of Forsyth, passed away Wednesday April 30, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Paran Baptist Church 5691 Highway 42 North, Forsyth, Georgia. Burial will follow at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens High 41 North Forsyth, Georgia. The family will greet friends from 6:00PM – 8:00PM Friday May 2, 2025, at the Church. in lieu of flowers the family request donations to Paran Baptist Church 5681 Highway 42 N. Myra was born July 2, 1940, in Atlanta to the late Curtis Myron Gittens and Mildred Brooks McDaniel. Myra was a member of Paran Baptist church for 63 years; she took several medical mission trips to Honduras and several trips to Idaho to work in vacation bible school. Myra was a graduate of Tift College and a member of the “Tift Sisters Alumnae”. After graduating from Tift, she taught at Mary Person’s high school, Monroe Academy and Tift College. Though she loved teaching she always wanted to be a nurse. She completed her nursing degree and worked at the Medical Center of Central Georgia for many years. More than anything else Myra loved her family and spent every moment possible with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Myra is preceded in death by her husband William “Billy” Waldrep Sr.

Myra is survived by her children Gloria Waldrep, of Forsyth, Bill Waldrep (Sarah) of Forsyth, Brooke Burson (Steve) of Conyers; grandchildren Caroline Waldrep (Timmy, Fiancé) Tula Hill (Zack), Willow Waldrep, Adam Burson and Ryan Burson; brother Jim Gittens (Sue); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
