Merle Stanford Torstenson

Merle "Tory" Stanford Torstenson passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Tory was born on August 28, 1946 in Ephrata, Washington. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Tory had a longstanding involvement in the music industry and a passion for building and restoring houses.   He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Raymond Torstenson; mother, Lelia Frances Smith VanMatre; stepfather, Jewel VanMatre; uncle, Lowell Stroud; and son, Steffan "Khan" Lineberger.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda; sons, Thor, Tory Luke and Tait; daughters-in-law Karen Lineberger and Kari Torstenson; grandson, Kody Lineberger; sister, Carol Stroud; and brother, Steve Torstenson, along with many other loving family and friends.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the Monroe County Moose Lodge #2424, 524 Cabiness Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
