Melda Watkins Grant

Melda Ruth Watkins Grant passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.  Reverend Mark Goolsby will officiate.  The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Grant, the daughter of the late Waymon Watkins and Ruth Day Watkins, was born March 6, 1944, in Covington, Georgia. Her husband, Joseph Allen Grant preceded her in death.  She was retired from the Bibb County Department of Family and Children Services. Survivors include her children, Clint (Monica) Grant of Valley View, Texas, Carl (Greta) Grant of Waynesboro, Georgia and Keith (Trellis) Grant of Forsyth, grandchildren, Gage (Crystal) Grant,  Hallie (Tony) Powledge, Jordan Grant, Austin Grant, Davis Grant and Jake Grant; and great grandchildren, Joey Powledge, Grayson Grant and Brayden Grant.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
