Mather Duane Mitchell, Sr.

Mather Duane Mitchell, Sr. passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.  His wishes were to be cremated with no service.

Mather, the son of the late Lucius C. Mitchell and Ruby Camp Jenkins was born March 18, 1941 in Rome, Georgia.  His wife, Norma Jean Greer and his son, Wade Mitchell preceded him in death.  Mather retired as a math school teacher, was an avid animal lover, taking stray animals in his home and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mather is survived by his companion, Sue Beasley of Forsyth; children, Angie Matthews, Chad Mitchell, Brett Mitchell of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Amanda Koschak of Beech Island, SC and Mather D. Mitchell, Jr. of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; step-children, Lisa Cannady of Juliette, Sherroll Flanagan of Forsyth and Sarah McNair of South Carolina; favorite niece, Sherry Collins of Savannah.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Sav A Pet, Post Office Box 933, Forsyth, Ga 31029.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
