Mary Elizabeth Wiley, 84, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Being blind from early childhood can make life hard and challenging. Thankfully Mary was blessed with a mother who from the beginning introduced her to the beauties of God's creation with love and patience. She received a strong foundation in basic living skills while attending Macon Academy for the Blind. These skills allowed her to live alone when her mother died with a confident measure of independence. In 1976 she started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and learned of God's kingdom on the shoulders of Jesus Christ. That truth gave her the strong hope for a future life on a perfect earth, in perfect health surrounded by her caring friends whom she would now be able to put a face to the warm voices she knew so well. Throughout her life Mary was able to travel and participate in events due to the caring and "just right" physical and spiritual assistance of Linda Browne, Barbara Clinton, Jasmine Clark and Elaine Schell and the Castleberry, Folsom, Pence and Quesenberry families just to name a few. She is most thankful to Jehovah for his loving care, his mighty protection, and his guaranteed promise of eternal life.
Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth - Psalm 37
