Marian Winters

Marian Sue Winters, 85, of Forsyth, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Rob Tinney officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Rocky Creek Church Cemetery Fund, 225 Rocky Creek Road, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.

Marian was born October 29, 1940, in Forsyth, Georgia to the late Lamar Wardlow Winters and Mary Geneva Snow Winters. She was the lunchroom manager for many years at Mary Persons High School. Marian had a passion for flowers and making things beautiful. She spent many hours in her gardens and sharing her flowers with her friends. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Marian is survived by her brother, Larry Winters (Janice), of Forsyth, nephew, Andrew Winters (Khoa) of Louisville Kentucky; niece, Jennifer Hunnicutt (Justin), of Forsyth; nephew, Butch Winters of Loganville, Georgia; nephew, Russ Winters (Eric) of Covington, Kentucky; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marian is preceded in death by her son, Kirk Williams; brothers, Russell Winters and Wayne Winters; and sister-in-law, Shirley Winters.
