February 18, 1938 – May 31, 2026
Lidia Hill, 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1938, in the Philippines, where she met and married her late husband, Coyle Brice Hill Jr., who was serving in the US Navy. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Carna Joyner and husband Jason Joyner of Jackson, Georgia; grandchildren, Jurie Crozier (husband Jake), Jarrett Joyner (wife Alexandra), and Jackson Joyner; siblings, Angelina Page (late husband Walter), Natividad Good (husband John Chris), Reynaldo Ilao (wife Merna), Ludy Faruolo (husband John), and Serafin Ilao (wife Arlene).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coyle Brice Hill; brothers, Liberato Ilao (wife Cristina), Pantaleon Ilao (wife Elena), and Cesar Ilao (wife Meli); and brother-in-law, Walter Page.
Lidia was a woman who loved deeply and lived fully. She had many passions and talents — from gardening and crocheting to her greatest love, cooking. Her kitchen was always filled with the aromas of love and delicious lumpia! She was a regular at Humble Bingo and could often be found enjoying spirited games of Mahjong with her close circle of friends. Lidia had a tender heart for all animals, especially her beloved cats, who were her constant companions. Those who knew Lidia know that her favorite color was red, she loved Elvis music, and brag about her three grandchildren.
Lidia was proud of who she was. She loved telling everyone — with a big smile — that she was a "Filipino Texan." Houston, Texas held a special place in her heart, but thanks to her daughter Carna's influence, she became an Atlanta Braves baseball fan, cheering them on with the same enthusiasm she brought to everything in life.
Lidia's warmth, her laughter, and her generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and the reminder to embrace life with joy and pride.
