Son of the late Wilfred William Schwartz and Mildred Ann Eberle Schwartz, Ken was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 27, 1932. He was a graduate of Proviso High School in Maywood, Illinois, and lived his life as a member of the Catholic faith. His family moved to Ocala, Florida in 1952. As a young man, Ken was eager to serve his country and wanted to join the United States Navy during the Korean war before graduating high school. His parents requested that he wait until he graduated. After graduating, he proudly enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. During his service, he was stationed in Trinidad and served as a gunner aboard the Martin PBM Mariner plane.

Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career as an electrician and was a dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 613. He earned his 65-year pin in 2022. He was initiated on March 1, 1957. Throughout his career, he contributed to several notable projects, including work on the Alaskan Pipeline, the RCA Building in New York City, and he wired the scoreboard for the Fulton County Stadium.

Ken was a longtime member of the Monroe County Moose Lodge #2424. He enjoyed drinking his favorite drink, Jack Daniels and coke, and loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. More than anything, he loved his family and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ken is survived by his wife of 61 years, Myra Nadine Schwartz of Forsyth; son, Gary Schwartz (Gina) of Forsyth; grandchildren: Cody Schwartz, Zach Schwartz, Ivy Morris, Emily Morris, and Amy Morris; great grandchild: River Waylon Schwartz; sister, Janet S.
