Karen Anne O'Leary Quinn, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. A memorial service to celebrate Karen's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Monroe County Memorial Chapel 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, March 7, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alice O’Leary. Karen graduated from the Boston College School of Education in 1966. It was during her time at Boston College that she met the love of her life, John (Jack) Quinn. The couple married in 1967 and embarked on a beautiful life together, traveling the world and sharing countless adventures abroad. Outside of her classroom and travels, Karen held a deep, lifelong love for horses and cats.
An educator at heart, Karen dedicated her life to teaching children both domestically and globally. Her career spanned classrooms across Massachusetts, Colorado, Virginia, and Georgia, as well as multiple international schools in the Middle East. She ultimately concluded her rewarding career in education as a teacher in the gifted program at Hubbard Primary School.
Karen was the devoted wife of John (Jack) Quinn and the loving mother of Patrick Quinn and Alistair (Bonnie) Quinn. She was the cherished grandmother of Megan, Sophie, and Coleman. She is survived by her brother Edward (Terry) O’Leary and was preceded in death by her brother John O’Leary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Karen's honor to either the American Cancer Society or the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank.
