Juanita Edge Smith

Juanita Edge Smith passed away Monday, April 17, 2017. It was the wish of Mrs. Smith to be cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Forsyth.  Burial will be private.  Dr. Dan Whitaker will officiate.  The family will greet friends following the service at the church.  Mrs. Smith, the daughter of the late John Thomas Edge and Eyleen Bowden Edge was born April 18, 1930, in Smarr, Georgia. In 2009, her husband, James Willis Smith preceded her in death.  She was a 1947 graduate of Mary Persons High School.  Mrs. Smith retired from William Carter Company in 1992, after forty two years of service, as a Quality Control Supervisor.  She joined First Baptist Church in 1968, joined the First Baptist Church Choir in 1971 and was a member of Prime Time Sunday School Class.  Survivors include her children, Terry Smith of Jackson Lake and Cindy Smith of Douglasville; grandchildren, Chip, Tim, Lexi and Gena Smith; and great grandchildren, Mills, Matti and Ryn Smith.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
