Jimmy Lee Brown was born in Cairo, Ga in 1940 to the late Byron and Margie Brown. They later moved to Panama City, Fl, where Jimmy grew up. He graduated from Bay County High School and attended Gulf Coast Community College. He moved to Forsyth, Georgia in 1965 to work for his uncle, the late Cleveland Haygood. He met and married the love of his life, Edith Turner in 1966 and enjoyed 58 plus years together. They gave birth to two daughters Tonya and Ginger. Jimmy was the owner and operator of Brown’s Starter, Alternator and Generator for over twenty years, located at 50 North Kimball Street in Forsyth. After retiring he worked at the Monroe County Recycling Center for 18 years. At the age of 74, he was known as “Total Jimmy” after being featured on Total Gym infomercials which are still being aired on television today. He loved playing golf and playing his harmonica in his spare time.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife Edith; his daughters, Ginger and Tonya (Brad); grandchildren Melanie, Heather, Hailey, Nathaniel and Josiah; brother Joel (Darlene), and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Charlie (Joy).
The family would like to express thanks to those at Heartland Hospice who made it possible to care for Jimmy at home: Janea, Tracy, Miranda, Ethel, Robby and Joe, with a special thanks to Janea and Tracy for their love, care and friendship
The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
