James "Jimmy" Mullis, Jr.

James “Jimmy” Mullis Jr., 79, of Forsyth, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Marvin Lee officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Maynard Baptist Church 1195 Juliette Rd. Forsyth, Georgia 31029.  

Jimmy was born in Macon, Georgia, on September 20, 1944, to the Late James and Hazel Mullis. He was a 1962 graduate of Lanier High School. Jimmy was retired from the United States Postal Service with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Monroe County Jaycees and played in a mixed bowling league for many years. He was the owner of Creekside Mobile Home Park. Jimmy was also a member of Maynard Baptist Church, where he served as the treasurer for ten years.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Starr Mullis of Forsyth; his two sons, Richard Carl Mullis of Forsyth, and Christopher Clay Mullis of Perry, Georgia; and his grandson, Christopher Michael Mullis of Forsyth. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Frank Michael Mullis.
