Horace Roland Pritchett Sr.

S1C USN WWII Veteran (Honorably Discharged)- Horace Rowland Pritchett, Sr. (age 99) was met at the gates of Heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January,9, 2024 along with is beloved wife of over 65 years-Dorothy Lee Pritchett who met her Savior, Jesus just 15 years to the date before on January 9, 2009.  Funeral services will be held Friday January 12, 2024, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel 86 West Main Street Forsyth, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Mikado Baptist Church 6751 Houston Road Macon, Georgia 31216.

Horace Roland Pritchett was born on December 7, 1924, in Juliette, Georgia to the late Edgar Thomas (ET) and Nancy Elizabeth (Lizzie) Pritchett. He went to school in Juliette and Jones County and upon completion of school he went to work at the Cotton Mill where for several years he was the foreman of the Dyeing Plant there.  During WWII, Horace joined the United States Navy where he moved to the rank of Seaman 1ST Class. He served his country well, earning an Honorable Discharge in 1945. After returning from the war to Juliette, he went back to the cotton mill, and several other jobs until he found his career as a scheduler for WRALC Robins Air Force Base with a 30-year service record. He is a member of Juliette Baptist Church and regularly attended until his later years. He went on to attend Mikado Baptist Church with his late wife Laverne.  Horace was a master mason and for over 75 years and member of Strict Observance Lodge #18. He loved his country and his family- but most of all he loved the Lord and served him well!

Horace was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Lucille Pritchett Wilson, his wife of over 65 years- Dorothy Lee Pritchett, son Joseph Daniel Pritchett, granddaughters  Alicia and Christie, grandson Joshua Pritchett,  and his late wife Laverne S. Cantrell Pritchett.

Horace's memory will forever be cherished by his son and daughter-in-law Horace R. Pritchett, Jr. (Cheryl), grandchildren Bryan (Christa) Pritchett, Amanda L. Pritchett. Great Grandchildren: Jacob, Thomas, Ryan and Madison Pritchett, Veronica Pritchett and Seth Wilson and Great-Great Grandchild: Zealand Little, along with a host of extended family and friends.
