Gwendolyn Webb Lunsford

Gwendolyn Webb Lunsford, 87, of Forsyth passed away Monday, July 14, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Interment will be private at Monroe Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the funeral home. The family request donations to St. Jude Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.

Gwen was born April 6, 1938, in Guyton, Georgia to the late Ernest Alton Webb and the late Majorie Dykes Webb. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Savannah as well as Tift College in Forsyth, which began a long and fulfilling career as a nurse for many local businesses. Gwen was active in the Round Table Book Club and the Forsyth Garden Club. She was a member of Forsyth First Baptist Church and the Prime-Time Sunday School Class. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Gwen is survived by her son, Charles Lunsford Jr. of Forsyth, Georgia; daughter, Gina Shremshock (Ron), of Bonaire, Georgia; two grandchildren, Gene Marie Shremshock and Ryan James Shremshock, both of Bonaire, Georgia; sister, Rachel Peavey, of Guyton, Georgia; and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Gwen is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Lunsford Sr.; her brother, Reggie Webb; and sister, Terry Brunson.
