Glenda Carrell Braswell Balltzglier

November 18, 1942 — January 22, 2023

Glenda Carrell Braswell Balltzglier was born at home on November 18, 1942 in Micro, N.C. to Arthur Braswell and Alberta Batten Braswell. She graduated from Selma High School, Selma, N.C. in 1961 where she was the drum majorette for the high school band. This is where she met and married her high school sweetheart Donald Wade Balltzglier, her Donald, as she called him. They were married July 5, 1959. On April 7, 1960 she gave birth to her firstborn son, Donald Wade Balltzglier Jr., followed by Daughter Natalie Carrell Balltzglier on November 17, 1961, Son Christopher Conley Balltzglier on June 3, 1963 and Son Mark Douglas Balltzglier on November 14, 1973. She was a wonderful, devoted and loving mother and wife. She loved her family with all of her heart and always desired to have them close to her.

Carrell devoted her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the young age of 10. Soon after she began to learn to play piano, playing for several churches as she served along side her husband in music ministry. She was so gifted on the ivorys and such a blessing to all who heard her play with the Joy of Jesus in her heart. She traveled full time for 16 years with her husband and family serving as music evangelists, playing and singing in churches across America. So many people were impacted by her life and service to the Lord.

She loved to cook and the kitchen was her playground. She was the best! Her food was flavored with love for the craft and those whom were blessed to sit at her table! She new your favorites and was sure to have them ready when you arrived. She was still baking and giving to neighbors her last week at home!

The diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in October of 2020 was devastating but she faced it with so much courage and determination to fight with all she had, all the while completely trusting in God’s ultimate plan for her life. Her time left was spent loving and serving those around her. Even in her last days, she was deeply impacting those who served and cared for her in the hospital. She was described as Priceless, Precious! That she was! The world was definitely made better because she was in it and she will be missed immensely by all who loved her so deeply!

Her impact on this earth will live on for generations to come thru those who have survived her:
