Gary Lamar Speir, known affectionately by friends and family as Gary, passed away peacefully on the 18th of October 2025, at the age of 69, in Macon, Georgia. Born on October 11, 1956, in Thomaston, Georgia, Funeral service will be private at Monroe Memorial Gardens on Ensign Road, Forsyth, Georgia. Gary's life was one marked by a deep love for his family, a passion for music, and an unwavering support for the Atlanta Braves.

Gary is survived by a loving family, including his brother, Jason Speir; his sister, Regina Sikes, and her husband, Steven; his sister, Gwen Music; his brother, Ricky Worth, and his wife, Tami; and his stepmother, Evelyn Speir. Each of them, along with his extended family and a host of friends, will fondly remember Gary's kindness, his easy-going nature, and his infectious smile that could light up any room.

An avid music enthusiast. His love for music was only rivaled by his passion for football and his cherished Atlanta Braves. Many will recall the joy he expressed with every Braves' victory. Gary's life philosophy could be summed up by a quote from the esteemed poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Gary embodied this sentiment, living a life full of laughter, earning the respect and affection of many, and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered.

As we say farewell to Gary, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by the love he shared, the friendships he nurtured, and the melodies he leaves echoing in our memories. Gary's legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and the simple pleasures of life, which he cherished so deeply. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us.

In honor of Gary's memory, let us hold dear moments we shared, the music we enjoyed, and the love that connected us all. Gary's story is a beautiful reminder that life's true value lies in the joy we bring to others and the harmony we create within our world. Rest in peace, Gary Lamar Speir; your melody will play in our hearts forever.
