Garnett Elrod, Jr

  Garnett D. “Buck” Elrod, Jr, age 88 of Abbeville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 7th in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10-11 AM in the chapel. Reverend David Clark will officiate. Interment will be at 3:00 PM in the family plot in the Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens in Forsyth, Ga. Mr. Elrod was born on April 25, 1930 in Toccoa, Ga. He was son of the late Garnett Elrod and Allie McKinney Elrod. He was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith. He served his country with honor in the United States Army.Survivors include: sons-Ricky (Debbie) Elrod of Abbeville, Eddie (Patti) Elrod of Forsyth, Mark (Kelly) Elrod of Rochelle and Greg (Cristy) Elrod of Juliette, sister-Martha Jen (James) Sutton of Rochelle, grandchildren-Megan Elrod, Joshua Elrod, Ryan Elrod, Jace Elrod and Parry Lanier Elrod and 2-great-grandchildren.The family will have a gathering at the home of Joshua Elrod, 47 Indian Springs, Rd., Forsyth, Ga. 31029 after the graveside service.Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
