Franklin Etheridge

Reverend Franklin E. Etheridge, 91, of Forsyth, Georgia passed away June 15, 2025. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, cousin and uncle who was cherished dearly. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday June 20, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 5455 Mt Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Georgia 31216, with the Reverends Mark Goolsby and Matthew Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth City Cemetery Newton Memorial Drive, Forsyth, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital 888 Pine Street Macon, Georgia 31201.

Franklin was a pastor for 65 years; he was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He worked at Robins Air Force Base for thirty-five years, as well as serving as a Chaplin for Monroe County Memorial Chapel for thirty-one years. He also served the community by performing weddings for the Probate Court. Franklin was a faithful servant of our Lord, a beloved friend and mentor to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Etheridge; two brothers; two sisters; wife of fifty-five years Annie McGaha Etheridge; stepson John Murray Malone

Franklin is survived by his wife, Sandra Batts Etheridge; daughters, Kathy E. Ogden (Floyd) and Debbie E. Darsey (Hugh); seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two stepchildren Cheryl Harrell Youmans (Charles) and James Gregory Malone, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
