Erika Elyse Giduturi

April 15, 1989 — April 30, 2026

Forsyth

On April 30, 2026 Erika Wharam Giduturi, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, beat the cancer she fought so hard against. She was surrounded in her home by her family and many other loved ones when she went to meet her Lord. Erika had a strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She committed her life to Christ at the age of eight and was baptized. Erika and Jeremiah have been faithful members of Maynard Baptist Church since 2019.

Erika was born in Culloden, Georgia on April 15, 1989. Erika’s family moved north to nearby Forsyth when she was young. Erika lived there the rest of her life. She graduated high school as a homeschooler in 2007. Soon thereafter, she attended Ogeechee Technical College to obtain her certificate as a surgical technician. After graduating from OTC in 2009, she worked at Piedmont Henry Hospital for seven years. She was dedicated to her job and it showed in how well she loved and served her patients. Erika also served simultaneously as a PRN at Monroe County Hospital. Erika shined her brightest when she had an opportunity to help others – as a surgical tech, babysitting her nieces and nephews, working with MOPS consignment, baking casseroles for others, and always being willing to open up her home to visitors. Erika was best known as a kind servant who kept everyone laughing with her bright smile and contagious humor. Erika was full of life, never met a stranger, and loved people deeply – especially her family.

Erika met the love of her life, Jeremiah Giduturi, in 2013. They married in May of 2014 at Camp Kaleo and soon welcomed three beautiful children, whom they cherish. As a family, they loved to go camping, visit new states, watch movies, and spend quality time together. This past January, they were blessed to build their dream house just miles away from the home she was raised in. She loved being a mom more than anything else and family always came first. Erika’s example of love and kindness for those around her will endure.

Erika fought a years-long battle with cholangiocarcinoma, a genetic cancer in her bile duct. In 2022, she was given a new liver. This transplant allowed her to live for several more years with her family. However, the cancer returned in September of 2024, and after a valiant effort, she gained eternal glory and was cured from this disease on April 30, 2026.

Erika is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Bonnie Johnston, her paternal grandmother Pat Wharam, and her nephew Noah McCoy.

She is survived by her husband, Jerimiah; her three children, Ezekiel, Addison, and Josiah; her parents, Jackie Wharam (Dana) and Andrea Wharam; her grandfather Benny Johnston, and her four sisters and their spouses, Alison McCoy (Daniel), Megan Childers (Zach), Rachel Hunt (Jared), Eden Pless (Jonathan); and 20 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Maynard Baptist Church in Forsyth on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:07 PM to 7:07 PM. In true Erika fashion, this will be a potluck meal of fellowship.

Her funeral will be held at Maynard Baptist Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 4 PM.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
