Elsie Jean Evans

Elsie Jean Evans, 84, of Macon GA, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Graveside services will be Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 2830 Hwy 15 S., Greensboro, GA. Rev. Barry Collins will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, Forsyth, GA.

Mrs. Evans was born January 11, 1938 in Washington, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Broughton and Burma Jennings, husband, George T. Evans, fiancé, Jim Brassell, children Gerald Pancake and Jean Sheppard, and grandchildren Luke Heath, Teri Sheppard and Brannon Sheppard.

Mrs. Evans had a love for crocheting, knitting and cross-stitch. She would give her beautiful creations as gifts. She won many ribbons at the county fair for crafts.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her children, Kathy (Chris) Mercer and Sabrina (David) Heath, grandchildren, Keith Mercer (Jessica), Cristi Landers (Chris), Brandi Miller (Justin), Jordan Heath (Bonnie), eight great-grandchildren and sister Leona “Kitten” Morrow.
