Donnie was born May 1, 1948, in Forsyth, Georgia to the late Charles and Helen Edge. He retired as a Lieutenant after thirty-six years of service with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Donnie was well-respected by both his peers and his inmates, as well as anyone else who knew him. He was an Elvis fan and a fitness buff. He kept in shape by lifting weights and enjoyed horseback riding. Donnie was known as a pool shark, but he will be remembered for his love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Donnie is preceded in death by his son, Shane Edge, and stepmother Jane Herndon Edge. He leaves behind his son, Justin Edge of High Falls, Georgia; daughter, Brianna Edge (Tim Pancake) of Byron, Georgia; three grandchildren, Jayce Edge, Maverick Pancake, and Pierce Lamb; brother, Jerry Edge (Ann) of Oxford, Georgia; sisters, Debra Edge Holland, Kathy Starr (Bill), and Sandra Buice (Eddie), all of Forsyth; brother, Keith Edge (Celeste) of Forsyth; stepbrother, Phillip Herndon (Cathy) of Forsyth; and his significant other, Emma Mullis of Forsyth.
