Elizabeth Dian Dukes Cooley, 78, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the Family Cemetery. Dian was born on June 13, 1946, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late John William Dukes and Margaret Hill Collins. She was a Tift College graduate and taught at Monroe Academy. Dian also worked at the United States Post Office in Forsyth, and retired from the Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA.
Dian was a huge lover of all animals, especially her cats. She loved visiting Dauset Trails in Jackson, Georgia, to visit with the animals that have been placed there for rehabilitation. After retiring, she became an excellent homemaker, and being a wife and a grandmother made her life fulfilled. She loved spending time with her family, making memories that will be cherished forever. Dian will be greatly missed.
Dian is survived by her husband, Zacky J. Cooley; her two children, Sandi Williams (Terry) and Chary Brown (Martie); her step-son, Scott Cooley (Jessica); her six grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; her sister, June Dukes of Jefferson City, Tennessee; her brother, Ben Dukes (Pat) of Butler, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Suzie Dukes of Griffin, Georgia and her brother-in-law, Lynn Horne of Yatesville, Georgia
