Denise R. Garren

Denise R. Garren, 58, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Mark Goolbsy officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Burial will be private at Monroe Hills, in Forsyth, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Save-A-Pet, P.O. Box 933, Forsyth, Georgia 31029, in honor of Ms. Denise R. Garren.

Denise was born on November 19, 1966, in Asheboro, North Carolina, to Mrs. Joan C. Turner and the late Ray lee Garren. She was a graduate of Central High School in Macon and earned her associates degree from Macon Junior College. Denise started out as an intern at GEICO while she was still in high school. She worked there for twenty-nine years. Denise transferred to Lakeland, Florida in 1993.

Denise enjoyed photography, making arts and crafts, and taking care of her cats. She loved her family and she will be greatly missed.

Denise is survived by her mother, Joan C. Turner of Forsyth; her sister, Debbie Carter (Walter) of Forsyth; her brother, Dewayne Garren (Vangie) of Forsyth; her niece, Abigail Garren Saxton (John) of Taunton, England; her nephew, Joshua L. Horne of Panacea, Florida; her great nieces, Lyn and Harley Horne of Panacea, Florida; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins in North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her father, Ray L. Garren; her brother, Dale R. Garren; and her partner, Cynthia A.Gill.
