Debra Lee (Boggio) Sampson 1954-2025
Debra Lee Sampson, 71, of Williamson, GA, passed away in Griffin, GA after many years of battling cancer, on Thursday, November 27, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia, with Pastor Josh Kennedy officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Repass following the service at the Devotie Baptist Church, 1355 Experiment Street, Griffin, Georgia.
Debra was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took special pride in becoming a nurse and working in this profession for over 35 years. She loved all her patients and they, in turn, loved her. She truly loved being a wife, mother and a nurse. In her younger days she enjoyed racing cars, riding motorcycles, and camping with her husband. As she aged, she also enjoyed reading, watching “her daytime shows” and completing word search puzzles.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, John Boggio Jr, Gertrude Boggio Sanford, and Gerald Sanford. Her loving husband Melvin Kenneth Sampson, her beloved son Melvin James Sampson (Jimmy, Jay) and an unnamed daughter who did not survive her birth.
She is survived by her children, Tracy and Corey Redmon, Kayte and Paul West, Kenneth and Carla Sampson, and Tim and Angela Sampson. Her grandchildren, Cameron and Reba Sampson, Cylie Sampson, Christopher Sampson, Ty and Kaelyn Redmon, Steffanie and Mason Clark, Elle Redmon, Angel Garrish, Michael Garrish, James and Adrianna West, Anna and Chris Haney, Janna Smith, Macy Williams, TJ Sampson, and Autumn Sampson. From the grandchildren above she was also blessed with 18 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Bernice McCarthy, Cindy Jamminick, Kathy Sampson and Janice Peck and Christine Sampson. Her brothers Bruce Sampson and Ron Sampson. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
