Danny Letson

Danny Letson, 73, of Forsyth, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his home. A graveside funeral service will be held at Monroe Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Ricky Niblett officiating. Flowers are accepted, or you may make contributions to Dauset Trails (www.dausettrails.com) or to your favorite charity organization in honor of Mr. Danny Letson.

Born July 30, 1952, to the late Shorty and LaDelle Letson, Danny Lamar Letson was a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia. He graduated from Mary Persons High School, class of 1970, and married the love of his life, Cathy, soon after. He joined the Georgia National Guard and dutifully served his country while building a career as a diesel mechanic at the National Guard Armory, located in Forsyth.

Danny loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Danny loved fishing, camping, grilling, welding, and blacksmithing; and he always welcomed any challenge that came his way. Danny has been involved in church since 1984. He never met a stranger and loved to make conversations with anyone he encountered. Danny will be greatly missed.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and LaDelle Letson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathy Letson, of Forsyth; a daughter, Ondra Lee, of Sparta; and a son, Marsh Letson (Lesley), also of Sparta. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Larry Letson (Diane), of Forsyth; as well as his grandchildren, Asher Lee, Maddie Grovner (Calvin), Murphy Letson, Jack Letson, Eli Letson, and Gus Letson.
