Charlie Joan Lucero

December 10, 1938 — February 3, 2026

Charlie Joan Roberts Lucero, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on December 10, 1938, to Roland and Flora Estill Roberts. She departed this life for her heavenly home on February 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering kindness.

Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, and a brother, but her spirit will forever live on through her cherished family. She is survived by her devoted son George Lucero and his wife Terri of Gray, Georgia; Tony Lucero and his wife Lona of Canton, Oklahoma; Julie Almaguer and her husband Tony of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Corina Tweddle and her husband Jove of Macon, Georgia. Additionally, Charlie leaves behind 15 adoring grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Charlie was an ordained minister and throughout her life, she was called to minister to everyone who crossed her path, sharing the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a living example of 1st Corinthians 13: 1-13, A profound highlight of her ministry was the honor of officiating her son's wedding, a moment that filled her heart with joy and pride.

Charlie had an innate gift for gardening, finding solace and beauty in nurturing plants. She was also a talented artist, her creativity blossoming as vividly as the flowers she tended to. Her love for people was immense, and her home was always a welcoming place filled with laughter, warmth, and love.

Funeral services in celebration of Charlie's life will be held 11:00AM Thursday February 12, 2026, at Gray Church of God, 137 Atlanta Road, Gray, Georgia with Bishop Greg Banks officiating, where friends and family will gather to honor her remarkable journey and share memories that will forever resonate in their hearts.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Charlie Joan Lucero not for the life she left behind, but for the love and light she brought into our lives.

“My favorite verse about love is the whole chapter which describes what real love is.
