Bobby Joe Taylor, Jr.

Bobby Joe Taylor Jr., age 69, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on September 7, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bobby began his firefighting career with the City of Riverdale Fire Department before joining the City of Forest Park Fire Department, where he proudly served for 22 years, retiring as a Fire Apparatus Operator and Sergeant. He also volunteered with the Monroe County Fire Department. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a devoted fan of Georgia Bulldogs football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Taylor Sr., and his mother, Marcella Kirby.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 30 years and the love of his life, Cindy Nix Taylor; his children, Amanda (Matthew) Soper, Tori Taylor, Tamra (Matthew) Land, and Tyler (Michelle) Karr; his grandchildren, Jacob Derryberry, Clinton Derryberry, Lilly Dibble, Jacob Karr, Waylon Postell, Grayson Land, and Henry Land; his brother; and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Maynard Baptist Church on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm, officiated by Chaplain Conway Ferguson. Burial will follow at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bobby's brothers and sisters at the Monroe County Fire Department, Forest Park Fire Department and to his hospice nurse, Marla, for their care and support.
