Bobby Ray Ivey

Bobby Ray Ivey died Sunday, July 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Dr. Dan Whitaker and Dr. Hambric Brooks will officiate.   The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Ivey, the son of the late Gid Martin Ivey and Eula Mae Johnson Ivey was born February 24, 1935 in Stonewall, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his sister, Voncile Ivey. He was a 1958 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in accounting. He worked in Accounting and Finance at Robins Air Force Base for thirty-six years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Air National Guard, the Exchange Club of Forsyth for many years and a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Herndon Ivey of Forsyth, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Greg Adams of Bolingbroke; grandson, Chris Adams; special cousin, Odett Daugherty of Quitman, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, c/o First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, Ga 31029. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
