Alexander Floyd Strebeck, known affectionately as Alex to his family and friends, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 18. Born on September 30, 2006, in Stockbridge, Georgia, to Amos Eldon Strebeck and Jessica Simpson Strebeck, Alex was a beacon of joy and kindness in the lives of all who knew him. The family will greet friends from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Monroe County Chapel.
Alex grew up surrounded by the love and support of his family, developing a passion for the outdoors early in life. While attending Mary Persons High School, he excelled both in academics and athletics, particularly shining on the soccer field where he was known for his sportsmanship and team spirit. His love for soccer was only matched by his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to appreciate nature's beauty and the value of patience. Those who were fortunate enough to know Alex understood that his heart was as vast as the great outdoors he so cherished. He was a loving son, a kind friend, and a thoughtful individual who never hesitated to lend a hand or share a smile. His ability to light up a room with his presence and to make everyone feel included was a testament to his character, and these traits will be sorely missed. Alex's interests extended beyond the playing fields and into the realm of his personal life, where he cherished spending time with his friends and family. He had an infectious laugh and a knack for storytelling that kept his loved ones entertained for hours. His stories, often filled with humor and warmth, reflected the life of a young man who lived fully and loved deeply. The words loving, kind, and thoughtful only begin to describe Alex. His compassion touched the lives of many, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live life with the same generosity and warmth that he embodied. Alex will be remembered not only for the joy he brought into the world but also for the gentle way he encouraged others to be their best selves.
In addition to his parents Alex is survived by his sisters, Eliza, who Alex said was his best friend, and Emma, who Alex said was "his Baby", he even taught her to ride a bicycle; his paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
As we bid farewell to Alex, we hold tight to the memories he has left behind. His spirit, so vibrant and full of life, will forever be a part of the tapestry of our community. Whilst we mourn his untimely departure, we also celebrate the time we were privileged to share with him. Alex's legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by his devoted parents, Amos and Jessica, as well as the many friends and family members whose lives he enriched. In honoring Alex's memory, we reflect on the words of A.A. Milne, "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." Alexander Floyd Strebeck was indeed a treasure, and though his time with us was brief, the impact he made will resonate for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Alex; your journey was a gift to us all.
