Emily Jannis Mate

Emily Jannis Mate, born September 29, 1983 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, December 20, 2016.  She lived in Monroe County for twenty-five years. She attended the Monroe County School System.  The last five years she and her dad had moved to Fannin County, Georgia to live. While in Monroe County she loved her school and enjoyed watching Mary Persons football.  In Blue Ridge, Georgia she attended a daily program for special needs people. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her smile and laugh were contagious.  Emily was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Stallworth Mate and her grandparents, Bernard and Marquita Mate and Hampton and Ella Mae Stallworth. She is survived by her dad, Brian Mate of Morganton, Georgia, brothers, Brad (Beverly) Mate of Tampa, Florida and Brandon (Kimberly) Mate of Orlando, Florida, three nieces and two nephews.  A graveside Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 12 Noon at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The service will be conducted by Dr. James Hughes of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.  The family will meet friends at that time.  In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have memorials sent to Mineral Springs Center in Blue Ridge, Georgia.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
