Helen Clay Carroll

Helen Dorothy Clay Carroll passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mrs. Carroll, the daughter of the late Carl Clay and Myrtice Buice Clay was born December 20, 1924, in Atlanta, Georgia. She retired after thirty years of service as a secretary with the Fulton County Courts.  Her husband, James Ewell Carroll, her son, Ewell W. Carroll and her daughter, Marlene Elaine Carroll preceded her in death.  Survivors include her children, Lewis Carroll of High Falls and Robert (Maggie) Carroll of Hiram; grandchildren, Helen Jones, Sarah Krauth and Jessica Barrett; and great grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Jones and Connor Krauth.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
