Leighanne Harbuck Bowen

July 29, 1961 — May 19, 2016

Leighanne Harbuck Bowen, 54, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away in the early morning hours of May 19, 2016, having spent the preceding days surrounded by family and friends. She was born to Hiram and Rosalyn Harbuck, July 29, 1961, in Forsyth, Georgia. Leighanne graduated from Monroe Academy in 1979. She married the late Douglas Roy Bowen in 1992, and they lived together in Forsyth and then Orlando, Florida, for approximately ten years before returning to Forsyth in 2005. Leighanne was the office manager for Pediatria Health Care for Kids for the last seven years, and she was immensely loved, respected, and sometimes feared by the home health nurses and staff who worked with her. Her selfless service to others, her ability to make those around her laugh, and her lifelong love of collecting frogs were well-known by all who ever met her. Leighanne was a passionate Bulldog fan, but above all else, she was a loving mother, sister, and aunt; her father's "right-hand man"; and her mother's best friend. Leighanne is survived by one son: Blake Bowen, of Forsyth; her parents: Hiram and Rosalyn Harbuck, of Forsyth; and her brothers: Keith Harbuck (Karen), of Forsyth, and Vence Harbuck, of Jacksonville, Florida; and eight nephews and nieces. The family will conduct a small private family burial; however, a celebration of her life will take place outdoors at her family residence at 84 South Lee Street in Forsyth, Georgia 31029. Weather permitting, those wishing to join her family for this celebration may stop by between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, May 21. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Forsyth in memory of Leighanne Harbuck Bowen.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
