Roberta Sullivan Pierson

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTERoberta Holmes Sullivan Pierson passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Culloden Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Pierson Cemetery. Rev. Albert Parker and Elder Matt Yawn will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Pierson, the daughter of the late Fred Paul Sullivan and Catherine Holmes Sullivan was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida on November 3, 1926. Her husband, James Jefferson Pierson, Sr. preceded her in death. She was a rural mail carrier, retiring as Postmistress of Yatesville Post Office. Mrs. Pierson was a graduate of Wesleyan College, a member of Culloden Primitive Baptist Church and a member of Culloden Garden Club. Survivors include her children, Jimmy (Clarene) Pierson of Culloden, Fred (Sharan) Pierson of Lawrenceville, Joe (Anne) Pierson of Culloden, Robert (Sandra) Pierson of Atlanta and George (Janet) Pierson of Culloden; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Warren and Wendy Bennett, 4990 Hwy 83 South, Culloden, GA 31016. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
